Classroom Expectations.

Our classroom developed these important rules to maintain a safe and respectful classroom.

Metacognition.

Students know that real reading is thinking about our thinking as we engage with books.

Number Talks.

Students practice using mental math to solve a variety of equations. They share their strategies with others and apply reasoning and problem solving.

Partner Reading.

Students sit Elbow to Elbow, Knee to Knee.

Brainwork.

Students learn the importance of showing their thinking and that students can use many strategies.

Math

Students are engaged, interacting with the lesson on the smart board.

Using Word You Know.

Students practice this word work activity to train their brain to use this strategy when reading and writing.

About Mrs. Kopitzke

I am excited to begin my 5th year teaching at Spring Road School. I love to teach and learn along with my students. I strive to make learning fun and interactive!

I am married to my husband, Drew. Our wedding was in the Summer of 2014. We recently bought a home in Neenah and are excited for the arrival of our first baby in December.

I love the color green. My favorite animal is an elephant. Camping, volleyball, board games and photography are some of my hobbies.
